Contract Services

The Program

The Contract Services program provides employment opportunities for people with disabilities and other barriers to employment. Individuals can pursue several areas of employment such as:

• Rag and wire cutting
• Mail preparation
• Piece work projects
• Light industrial work

Contract Services is partially funded by United Way and currently operates in Edmonton.  Contract Services is designed to serve individuals that are not able to access typical government funding for services such as PDD (Persons with Development Disabilities). However, if the fit is correct, any individual with a disability or barrier can be accommodated.

Some examples of barriers to employment that are commonly seen in the program are:

• Depression
• Schizophrenia/paranoia
• Anxiety
• Physical disabilities

This program enables these individuals to perform their various work responsibilities in an accommodating and low stress environment where they have the option to work individually or as part of a team.

Individuals who participate in this program will enjoy the feeling of fulfillment that comes from gaining and maintaining employment while earning a competitive wage. They are set up for success, and many of our current individuals have maintained employment with Contract Services for several years.
