Goodwill Grande Prairie Reaches Record-Breaking Sales

November 20, 2013

Goodwill Industries of Alberta Grande Prairie surpassed annual, best year sales on November 8, 2013.

“We are so proud of our Grande Prairie staff and supporters on this huge achievement!” exclaims Dale Monaghan, President and CEO of Goodwill Industries of Alberta.

“We are grateful for all those who donate and shop at Goodwill. With sales revenue from your gently used items, we can reach more people in Grande Prairie with our life-changing services.”

Goodwill Industries of Alberta is a social enterprise that provides training and jobs for Albertans with disabilities. Donations of gently-used household items are sold in our 12 retail stores across Alberta to support employment programs.  We currently have a retail store and donation centre that employs 19 people in Grande Prairie, in addition to our employment programs and services office that employs 10 people.

In Grande Prairie, Goodwill supported 44 individuals with their employment goals in 2012. Our employment programs ensure that each of these 44 people are able to become independent in their employment and be strong, contributing members of the community.

Individuals from our Grande Prairie program are employed at businesses such as MaddHatters, Pat’s Autobody, Wholesale Sports, Petland, and Real Canadian Superstore, Elite Water Disposal, Indoor Elements Mechanical Ltd, and more.

Goodwill directly employs 11 individuals with disabilities in its Grande Prairie store and donation centre.
