The Opportunity:

The Supervisor, Power of Work is responsible for assisting with the supervision and coordination of POW employees. This includes providing supervision and coaching to Employment Coaches and Coordinators to ensure we are expertly supporting individuals to reach their employment goals. We are looking for an experienced Human Services professional to play a key role in continuously improving services related to POW employment programs and proactively identify the needs of POW to support long term sustainability and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

In collaboration with the Manager, Power of Work, your key professional accountabilities and responsibilities will include:

  • Providing leadership to the POW Employment Program Coaches and Coordinators
  • Ensuring workplace practices are being followed at all work placement sites that support community employment program employees and people supported.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with businesses and non-profit organizations.
  • Coordinating and monitoring program employees in daily communication and documentation compliance.
  • Managing the POW teams schedule; ensuring all job or volunteer sites are provided with qualified and trained job coaches.
  • Documenting work performance of Employment Coaches and Coordinators for the purpose of employee job performance evaluation
  • Developing, supervising and monitoring employment coach and coordinators schedules, and approvals of team vacation requests.
  • Completing and maintaining all documentation on participants according to policies and procedures, and accreditation standards (CARF).
  • Assisting the Manager, Power of Work in the planning and facilitation of agency orientation, in-service training and staff development workshops for new and existing program staff.

Successful candidates will have:

  •  Bachelor’s degree in relevant social science or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with individuals with disabilities or related work experience
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certificate
  • Assist training, abuse protocol, crisis prevention and intervention would be an asset.
  • The ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think on their feet
  • Ability to influence, empower and motivate others and hold team members accountable for the completion of responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach effectively using various instructional methods.
  • The ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required
  • Knowledge of various vocational areas and an ability to break job tasks into specific steps.

*Must have own vehicle, a valid class 5 driver’s license, vehicle insurance, appropriate registration and a clean driving record.
