The Power of Work program supports people with disabilities in locating employment or volunteer opportunities in their communities. Individuals are assisted with identifying their employment goals, employment preparation, job search and employment coaching. The Power of Work program currently operates in Edmonton and Grande Prairie.

The steps in the Power of Work program are as follows:

Employment Goals
When an individual starts the Power of Work program their employment goals and interests are assessed through a Person Centered Plan. This plan takes a comprehensive look at the individual’s aspirations and goals relating to employment and outlines the action needed to achieve them.
Employment Preparation
Individuals in the Power of Work program develop job skills through workshops, and work training placements tailored to their specific needs.
Job Search Assistance
Individuals in this program acquire the skills they need to find employment within the community, such as:

Employment Coaching
When an individual is successful in obtaining a position within the community, on-site support can be provided by a job coach to assist them in maintaining employment.
