Goodwill Industries of Alberta will open a new store in Spruce Grove on Monday, October 7, 2013.

“We have received many donations from the generous residents of the Tri-region area, and we are thrilled to now be opening our new Spruce Grove store,” states Dale Monaghan, Goodwill CEO and President.

Since June 2008, we have had a donation centre located at 98 McLeod Avenue, Spruce Grove. We’re now expanding part of the building into a retail operation.

Currently we have 11 stores and 21 donation centres across Alberta.

Goodwill Industries of Alberta is a social enterprise providing individuals with disabilities the opportunity to enhance their lives through meaningful employment. Donations are sold in our retail stores to support employment programs and services.

“We’re one of the largest employers of persons with disabilities in western Canada and it is through the generosity of those who donate clothing and other gently-used household items that we are able to achieve this employment achievement,” says Monaghan.

“On top of that proceeds from Goodwill retail sales stay in Alberta and go back to helping people with disabilities find employment.”

In 2012, we received more than 500,000 donations from generous members of Alberta’s communities.

A store grand opening will be held on Saturday, October 26.
