The Job:

Are you our next Store Supervisor? Reporting to the Store Manager we are looking for a team-oriented, service-driven individual to work in the retail and processing environment to assist in all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the store including, but not limited to, customer service, staff training and development, donation and material processing, health and safety and administration processes.


What you’ll be doing:


In collaboration with the Store Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Professionally interact with customers (internal and external) as required while conducting duties.
  • Managing customer complaints (internal and external) in a professional and effective manner.
  • Assisting the Store Manager with scheduling and approve timecards.
  • Ensuring the retail floor is merchandised according to standards and remains clean and organized throughout the day.
  • Ensuring that all production targets are met on a daily basis by identifying and prioritizing processing needs. Supervise staff; provide encouragement and corrective action when necessary
  • Performing financial opening and closing procedures including, but not limited to, issuing store credits, balancing tills and floats, recording daily sales, inputting sales into online web page, preparing bank deposits, as well as reporting shortages/overages accordingly.
  • Assisting in preparing team member timesheets and schedules and making changes to schedules as needed and approve timecards.
  • Training other Goodwill team members on how to perform all aspects of a particular job including paperwork and documentation required.
  • Performing facility opening and closing procedures ensuring the building is safe and secure.
  • Working in a multi-functional environment where you may be asked to move to, or assist, in other areas/locations to perform functions outside of regular duties.


What you bring to the table:


  • Candidate must be mobile for future development/growth and have open availability.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum two (2) years related supervisory experience, supervising personnel and directing work flow.
  • A valid class 5 Driver’s License.
  • Ability to work at various locations throughout Edmonton and area.
  • Ability to work in a culturally diverse working environment.
  • A friendly, courteous demeanor and a professional appearance.
  • Able to comfortably and enthusiastically converse, in English, with team members, donors and other members of the public about Goodwill and its mission.
  • You deliver amazing customer service by going above and beyond for all Goodwill customers.
  • You demonstrate teamwork and engage fellow Team Members in contributing to Goodwill’s mission & core purpose.
  • You have an open and honest attitude while making moral decisions.
  • You recognize the great efforts of fellow Team Members through genuine recognition activities.
  • You contribute to a welcoming & accepting work environment by showing respect at all times.
  • You hold yourself and fellow Team Members accountable in their roles and for their contributions to Goodwill’s mission & core purpose.
