Join us from 9am - 12pm on Monday October 2, 2023, Goodwill is kicking off Disability Employment Awareness Month (DEAM) by hosting a morning speaker event titled: Making a Positive Impact! Creating opportunities in our Community, at the Westbury Theatre - ATB Financial Arts Barns Building, just off of Whyte Avenue in Edmonton.

The event is focused on bringing awareness and inspiration to various business leaders within the city and within the disability employment field and to also get more business leaders, government officials and community members involved in providing a roadmap/better understanding in removing barriers for those with disabilities. This is an opportunity to learn, grow and excel in creating a more inclusive and productive workspace.

This event is perfect for Human Resource professionals, CEO's and Senior Leaders to understand how to create a welcoming space within your organization.

The event will consist of six different speakers, giving first-hand advice, knowledge and personal journeys, inspiring you to create a better tomorrow.


KATIE MCMILLAN - CEO of Kello Inclusive a disability-focused talent and media company. Authentic inclusion changes everything.
ERIN DAVIS - How organizations are developing and executing DEI strategy
BRIAN MCPHERSON - Alberta Wheelchair basketball HALL OF FAMER, uses challenges as fuel to live.
ZACHARY WEEKS - Disability advocate and accessibility consultant shining a light on important disability issues such as lack of accessibility, ableism, and discrimination.
NATASHA URKOW - CBC Push television star, with a focus on lived experience.
HEATHER HICKS - Goodwill Industries of Alberta, VP of Mission Impact showcasing implementing new programs in Alberta.

In addition to the speakers, there will be a light breakfast (handheld) and beverages included.
