Give the GOOD on Giveback Tuesday

Edmonton AB (November 30, 2020) – Sometimes things just don’t go to plan. This sums up 2020 in a single sentence. Like other organizations throughout the world, we have had to adjust, maneuver and change. This has been the case for our retail stores, donation centres and our programs to help those with a disability to find meaningful employment.

December 1^st, 2020 is Giveback Tuesday and once again our organization had to pivot from our original plans. Goodwill was planning on rolling out the blue carpet to greet our donors with a custom song from local musicians and creating a celebratory day for the thousands of Albertans who support Goodwill with their generosity.

With COVID-19 mandates in place from the Provincial Government, the health and well-being of our staff members, shoppers and donors are at the forefront. This celebration would not have been appropriate as health and safety come first.

For Giveback Tuesday we are still honouring those who support our mission by doing something a bit different!

Goodwill Round UP

We have started a program for those who would like to support our mission even more so with Goodwill Round UP.

At checkout, you have the opportunity to Round UP your purchase to the nearest dollar.

Every cent you donate through our Round UP program will go directly towards our mission. This adds to the 89 cents of every dollar you’ve already donated by shopping in our stores. This means more resources to help Albertans with disabilities train; find; and gain, meaningful employment.

Give the GOOD

We are also looking for ten lucky individuals who have the chance to receive Thank You packages from Goodwill for supporting our organization this time of the year. We want you to help “Give the GOOD” by nominating your friend, neighbour or family member for this wonderful package with amazing items inside!

Simply go online by visiting our Facebook page or Instagram page and tell us why the person you nominate should receive this great package. We’ll take care of the rest!

While we are a recipient of Giveback Tuesday, we are giving back to everyone who has supported us in 2020.
