It’s a return back home to Edmonton for Matt and Nicole Devine after spending 4 months cycling over 13,000km across Canada.
You Can Ride 2, a leader in providing adaptive cycling opportunities and modified bikes, is happy to announce the Devine’s, who have been cycling across Canada (coast-to-coast and the territories) on the Quikcard Ride for Change, will be arriving home to the Goodwill Edmonton Impact Centre at 11415 168 St. NW in Edmonton, 2:30 p.m., on Sunday August 27th.
Their ride began in Halifax on May 20th, 2023, and over the past 4 months, this cycling adventure has raised over $27,000 for the You Can Ride 2 program. This ride has inspired people to move and find purpose to enrich their lives, while giving back to their communities.
Upon arrival home, Matt Devine will complete the final few blocks of the journey with children living with disabilities, as these kids will join along the ride to the finish line. These are the very same kids who will be benefiting from the Devine’s fundraising efforts.
As an added bonus, local philanthropist Lyle Best, who has been so inspired by the entire journey, has stated that he will be matching the next $25,000 to be donated the You Can Ride 2 program, with Shaw Birdies also matching up to 50%.
The Devine’s have chosen You Can Ride 2 as their charity of choice for this exciting cross Canada cycling journey because they believe it is never too late for someone to undertake their own transformation to realize a healthier and happier life.
