Reduce your waste by donating to Goodwill

Waste Reduction Week runs from October 18 – 24, 2010 and strives to educate, engage and empower Canadians to reduce, reuse and recycle waste.

For Goodwill Industries of Alberta, reusing and recycling used goods is intrinsic in what we do. When you donate your gently used clothing and household items to Goodwill or shop in our stores, you are extending the lives of many useful items and keeping them out of the landfill.

We recycle items we cannot resell in our stores and putting anything in the landfill is our last resort.

As of August 31, 2010 Goodwill has saved 6.7 million pounds of goods from the landfill through our recycling operations alone. That does not even count the millions of pounds we keep out of the landfill through our store sales.

Do your part to Ease the Load on the Earth by donating your gently used clothing and household items to Goodwill.
